Carmen has a passion for social justice work. After college, she worked as a performance director for artists with special needs and developmental disabilities. She is also the co-director of the FTA Protest Art Series, creating social awareness and community connection through art.
Carmen Mitchell grew up as a competitive figure skater and ballet dancer. She now works as a professional singer and actor in both New York and California. Her body of artistic work includes many leading roles in musicals, short films, commercials and professional ice skating shows.
Dance & Ice Skating
Carmen has performed with several professional ice shows including the National Tour of Disney On Ice, Great America Theme Park, and Snoopy Ice Shows.
During her competitive ice skating career, Carmen became a US Figure Skating double gold medalist and was the Artistic National champion. She also won several artistic awards including "Most Artistic Freeskate" at Showcase competitions in the Bay Area.
She grew up as a classical ballet dancer and has trained in many other styles including lyrical jazz, tap, flamenco, hip hop, and contemporary. Carmen danced as a soloist with the San Francisco Academy of Ballet and Santa Rosa Dance Theater.
